Bought the small boss bag for bench shooting. Had to wait a little longer then expected due to finding out they do not keep a stock of the small bags. This is a good/bad thing. Good because you know your product is custom made at the time of order. The bad is the unknown wait time due to them having to cut and stitch the bag up. Over all the bag is great quality, great color and great shipping once the bag was complete. Definitely would recommend or buy again!

The Boss works pretty well as a rear bag. Used it last week in a NRL22 match and it did the job. ordered the coyote brown, and it looks true to photos. Only issue is I wish they used a little less fill, so that the adjustable strap could be used to cinch the bag a little further (like in their videos). There’s no way to remove any fill from the bag, either.

I like the Girdle Belt that changes the tension on the bag, thus changes the height.
It was a bit lighter than I was expecting. Mine weighed 9oz. But it is still very stable and not too “squishy”.
I wish it were about 30% larger. If they offer an even larger one, I will purchase.

Been using this bag for months now. For target shooting and hunting. Very stable for a rear bag at the range when using a bipod, and adjustable for different angles. ive used it multiple times to stabilize my shot when hunting as a rear support. And also, i just bought the tricorne because this ones a little small for mid support(still possible though), but i used it to stabilize my rifle on 3 different bucks ( bag was under the middle of my rifle) and because the bag, every bullet went where i was aiming. All 3 shots were off of lava rocks and no bipod can beat the setup time and stability of this bag on unstable ground, (especially lava rocks). i highly recommend it for hunting and just because i bought the tricorne doesn’t mean i wont stop using this one. Love all cole tac products much thanks Cole-Tac!

I am glad others have found the Boss Bag useful and have had success with it however, I am not satisfied and will return the bag. I found the bag not tall enough for my needs. I tried cinching up etc. to no avail. In fact when I purchased the BIG bag and when I received it I thought there was a mistake and I was sent the small variant. I have used the bag at the range twice, one in practice and the other during a competition. I found I was fidgeting with the bag so much that I went back to the old faithful rice sock I made. Sorry Cole-Tec I love your other products but for me it is a thumbs down. The 2 star rating is based on workmanship.

I needed a new rear bag to replace the crummy rabbit ear rest that was just too low. I bought the Cole-Tac Big Boss Bag based on other reviews and, what I felt, were some really quality features. First off, the Big size is perfect for me. I’m 6’2″ so I wanted something a little taller that could be squeezed or pressed the get rifle up and down, crosshairs right on target. I mostly use it on the long end but you could get really low if you needed to. The belt around the bag tightens up the beads so the stock rests easily, and I can put my hand under the cross strap to get a grip. The quality of stitching and material are great. You don’t have to worry about the bag ripping after a few months at the range. In fact, since it’s not too heavy, I plan to carry it in my pack on an upcoming hunt. My only suggestion would be that it have a Velcro seam so you can add/remove beads to really dial in the fit. Highly recommended. Buy with confidence.

welp, I guess my review will be a long term review…. considering that I bought my bag in 2015 and I’m just now reviewing it.
I have taken this bag to every class, used it for dryfire a few hundred gozillian times and it’s made every range trip with me for the past 8 years.
In all those years I’ve never had an issue out of it…. untill i finally built a gas rifle and somehow managed to pinch the seam by the strap JUST RIGHT with the buttplate to tear it.
Never fear tho, Coletac’s CS was absolutely top notch and they shipped me a new bag asap. since i’ve had my original so long, they told me to keep it and I was able to get it sewn back up and it’s still living on as a back up.
the new bag is really cool…. till you’re a dumb-ass and open up “Pandora’s Velcro” and spill the polymer filling all over the parking lot at your office… like I did.
I say Pandora’s velcro because IDK how they stuff those things, but I had to dump a fair amount to finally get it closed back up. I would have probably ended up having to dump about the same ammount anyways as it was slightly over stuffed IMO, but i assume that they built them with that velcro for customer customization anyways.
the new bag works just as well as the old one, is substantially lighter thanks to the new fill AND you can see where they really rethought the seams to prevent blow outs.
all in all I am exceedingly happy with my original purchase, my new replacement and most of all the top notch customer service!
